Reviews from our guests

There are two places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on Trip Advisor and we have an automatic feed of what has been written from Trip Advisor to this site .  Reviews posted like that show on the home page for each cottage, so now you can see what others have said.

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a "fix" and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

"Another amazing stay at Vanilla Cottage! What beautiful scenery it is. So much wildlife in the garden. I spent hours watching the birds feed. Had a Tawny owl calling most nights Went on some stunning walks, such beautiful scenery. Visited the nature reserve just up the lane - beautiful and so peaceful. Visited The Black Bear Inn up the lane twice. The landlady and staff are so friendly and the food was delicious. Thank you Fiona and Malcolm for all the little extras, the delicious vodka, the yummy Welsh Cakes and also the extras for the dogs. The towel and the extra dog leads cane in handy. Beautiful cottage. I will be back next year!! Michelle Chalke Northamptonshire. "

"Our stay at Abbey Cottage came as an unexpected pleasure. We took a late cancellation to come for a long weekend. As a busy working mym it was a chance to spend time with 2 of my children (ages 31 and 26). Sometimes you need to put everything else on hold and take time to switch off We had some beautiful walks up to the Devils Pulpit on the hillside opposite and up to St. Mary's church on the hill behind the cottage and through the village The Anchor Inn was very welcoming, good beers, pub food and very good staff. The Abbey lit up in red lights at night. Abbey Cottage - perfect, comfortable, cisy, lovely treats. Fiona and Malcolm you do a remarkable job. Thank you for sharing your cottage Annie, Sam and Charles Creary "

"What a fabulous location, surrounded by nature, particularly beautiful in autumn and hearing all the birds, animals and wild life at night and early morning is magical Tintern Abbey is a showstopper, the uninterrupted view from all the front windows and garden is breathtaking, particularly stunning when lit at night and it was lit red for Rememberance week which was extra special. The kids loved their rooms, huge and comfy beds! The dogs settled in and loved it too. We came here for tbe views and local walks and weren't disappointed. Paths behind the cottage take you into the woods and up high. A lovely holiday- cosy, well equipped cottage and plenty of exçellent walks and fresh air! Thank you Bevan family "

"We've had a lovely few days staying here, a charming chocolate box cottage with a picturesque view set within a wonderful location. We found it tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. Our 10 year old daughter was particularly thrilled to have a bedroom with an en- suite and her 8 year old brother was very happy to have a dvd player in the bedroom on which to play movies. Thank you for the Welsh Cakes. Something we had never tried before and really enjoyed. A memorable few days, especially so as this was our first holiday as a family with our 4 month old. Petherick family "
