Reviews from our guests

There are two places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on Trip Advisor and we have an automatic feed of what has been written from Trip Advisor to this site .  Reviews posted like that show on the home page for each cottage, so now you can see what others have said.

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a "fix" and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

"We have had a wonderful week with plenty of short walks and plenty of relaxation in front of the woodburner. We visited the Black Bear, Clytha Arms and the Chainbridge and all welcomed dogs which was excellent. Thanks for the welcome gifts - all very enjoyable We would come back again - no question! "A weekend away was in order and this couldn't have been more perfect. I can tell the passion and love you have for this home and it made us feel so welcome. After a weekend of pure relaxation, peace and wonderful walks, I feel more human! Just the ticket. We have stayed in so many "holiday rentals" and we can say hands down that none of them have had this sheer attention to detail and pure sense of welcoming - you are a rare find! We have had a lovely few days and discovered a taste for Welsh Cakes! Thank you so much The Bonneys Reading "

"Couldn't have asked for a more welcoming cottage. Our stay was relaxing and very well located. Everything was catered for with the added bonus of a log burner and a hot tub. The table laid, Welsh cakes and vodka is a lovely touch. Thank you! Will definitely recommend. Jessup and Burt families Plymouth "

"Our first stay at Tintern Abbey Cottage; we thought it was a fabulous, cosy cottage, and very well equipped. A lovely welcome from Fiona, and the log fire very much appreciated on a cold day. A great midweek break with our friends and our labrador who loved the walks. Peter and Lynne Mallen with David and Caroline Vandseberg 29th February for a 4 night stay. "

"Hello Fiona, Hello Malcolm, after a whole week back in Germany...we would like to thank You & Malcolm a lot for your informations and gifts ...in and about the cottage and this special very warm welcome in your cottage: .....yes, we were a little bit early...but it was for the game...(specials thanks for Malcolm)....and we had a very pleasant and sunny weekend in Monmouthshire with a Rugby-victory against France at the Millenium Stadium, a wunderful expierience at the Big Pit coal mine and at Raglan castle and the beautiful surrounding and landscape.... We hope to come back! Best regards Laura - Nadja - Maximilian P.S. thanks for the outside lights on Friday-night :-) "

"We think this is our 5th year at Tintern Abbey Cottage and it just gets better. We cound another two walks: Briavels Forest and this time we climbed to Devils Pulpit from Brockweir - great excuse to fill the car with provisions from the farmshop. The Anchor has improved greatly and the walk to The Fountain never disappoints - their welcome is always so warm and friendly. We booked the cottage for next year - it is the perfect escape! Thanks Jo and Liz, the kids and Sammy and Milo "
