Reviews from our guests

There are two places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on Trip Advisor and we have an automatic feed of what has been written from Trip Advisor to this site .  Reviews posted like that show on the home page for each cottage, so now you can see what others have said.

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a "fix" and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

"Came to the cottage for Jane's birthday. Last minute booking after a cancellation, unfortunately for them and lucky for us. Loved cottage - treats, Abbey, walks from back door! Wild flowers, location, table laid for us, recalcitrant vodka, peace and quiet, beautiful garden, large comfy beds. Will be back if possible and recommend you to all our friends and neighbours Thank you Jane and Roger, Chris and John Beckham and Forbes Devon "

"Once again we have had a wonderful week at Vanilla Cottage. Thank you Fiona and Malcolm for the warm welcome and the little extras flowers, cakes, milk, wine and of course the fabulous Vodka, much appreciated. The weather was so hot on Tuesday and Wednesday it was 35 degrees on the terrace far too hot for walking or a car ride so we just stayed at the cottage with the wildlife. Well it's time to leave again so it's goodbye to all the birds, squirrels Tec and last but not least Fiona and Malcolm. Thank you Peter and Norma Snow Kidderminster "

"We have had such a wonderful stay at Tintern Abbey Cottage. It is very comfortable and luxurious and has been so beautifully renovated and decorated, with such attention to detail. The welcoming flowers in the window of each lovely room were delightful. We have loved being here and didn't want to leave! To be able to look out at the beautiful Tintern Abbey from the cottage is an amazing experience. Tintern itself is a lovely place to stay- walking in the forests and hills all around is fantastic and the valley is extraordinarily lovely. And of course Tintern Abbey itself is completely wonderful. The Anchor Inn provided delicious meals and a warm welcome. We hope we can come back. Fraser party including Fay the dog Wargrave Berks "

"Arrived to a beautiful cottage with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Settled in well and felt like home from home. Lovely relaxing time spent in the Wye Valley. We have been very fortunate with the weather and have sat in the beautiful cottage garden and ate alfresco most evenings. This is the second visit to Tintern and it's such a lovely place to sit back and relax The Smith family Nuneaton "

"Lovely home away from home and perfect location for beautiful views and walks! The gardens surrounding the cottage are well appointed with perennial and climbing roses, including lovely scented Rugosa roses. You will be intoxicated by the view of Tintern Abbey and the flowers.
