Reviews from our guests

There are two places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on Trip Advisor and we have an automatic feed of what has been written from Trip Advisor to this site .  Reviews posted like that show on the home page for each cottage, so now you can see what others have said.

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a "fix" and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

"On arrival at Vanilla Cottage we were given a warm welcome by Fiona and Malcolm. The cottage is lovely, well equipped and sits in beautiful countryside which we enjoyed exploring. Tom, Diana and Phill Smith Perth Scotland "

"One of the loveliest holiday cottages we've stayed in- everything we needed and the hot tub was lovely- a must when you have had a day out walking. Great walks which the dogs enjoyed especially the Devil's Pulpit and up the Angiddy Valley. A great walk in woodland where they were off the lead the whole time. Also there is a great walk from the door of the cottage. Looking forward to a return visit The Meyers Gillingham Dorset "

"A fantastic week in a beautiful cottage. Returning for a holiday after 11 years when we lived in Chepstow. Sunny and warm all week. Great location for shopping, eating, drinking and lots of fishing. If you like traditional fly fishing for Rainbows, Wooleston Court is the best!!! Large lakes, stunning location. Also check out Bigwell at Redbrook- like an aquarium in your back garden. Worth a visit, but on the small side. We all had a thoroughly good week. Many thanks Fiona and Malcolm John, Elaine and Jean Barr Broughty Ferry Dundee Scotland "

Tintern Abbey Cottage - John, Elaine and Jean Barr - September 2015

"Many thanks for a very comfortable stay- this is undoubtedly the most well equipped holiday cottage we've ever stayed in. And we appreciated the flowers, Welsh Cakes and wine! We've been lucky to have had ideal weather for exploring the area on foot, and especially liked the view from the Devil's Pulpit looking towards Tintern Abbey. Good food at The Anchor pub in Tintern and also the Saracens Head at Symonds Yat. Looking forward to visiting the area again. The Russell family Hampshire "

Foxes Reach - The Russell family - September 2015

"The cottage has been a great base for exploring a beautiful area and meeting up with family. Many thanks for the wine, flowers and Welsh Cakes. The Whellers "

Foxes Reach - The Whellers - September 2015

"Thank you a truly relaxing week. Started each day with a 1-2 hour hike up and down the hills around the cottage, loved by me, my mum and the 3 dogs. Amazing walks and fabulous views. Fab views from The Devil's Pulpit. Don't miss the Lime Kiln area - great if it's raining so protected by trees. Teenagers happy to chill and enjoy the secret WiFi, plus a session of top adventure at Go Ape; and pottery around the village, drinks in the cafes and The Anchor pub. Beds were amazing- slept brilliantly ever night. Weather, though overcast was perfect. Simmonds party Weston Super Mare and Amesbury "
