Reviews from our guests

There are two places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on Trip Advisor and we have an automatic feed of what has been written from Trip Advisor to this site .  Reviews posted like that show on the home page for each cottage, so now you can see what others have said.

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a "fix" and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

"Wonderful weather- glorious sunshine. Very relaxing- could not ask for more. Top moment- Buzzards swooping overhead while we ate breakfast on the patio! Mackenzie family York and Devon "

Vanilla Cottage - Mackenzie family - July 2014

"What a lovely cottage! So well equipped. We were all very comfortable and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The weather this week Couldn't have been better- who needs " the Med" when it's like this! We were taken with how quiet it is up here. It was great that the "Pooch" was allowed in so many pubs for our evening meals. Everyone was so welcoming. Would love to come back for a return visit. Excellent throughout. Mike, Sue, Carol, Mark, Liam and Rosie Kettering "

Foxes Reach - Mike, Sue, Carol, Mark, Liam and Rosie - July 2014

"We have had a lovely week. Thank you. We have had a great holiday with our humans here at Foxes Reach. Walks around the village are ok although the local dogs are a bit noisy at the sight of visitors. On a hot day woodland walks have been fun. We also liked Chepstow Castle and Symonds Yat. Our favourite place to relax is The Anchor Inn at Tintern- great for a lunch/ tea. We also liked the Inn at Penallt. Best of all was coming here to laze about in the garden. Love Ronnie and Daphne the sleepy Greyhounds and Sue and Phil Kershaw, N Yorkshire "

"What a lovely cottage. Jeff, Lara and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Wye Valley. Every recommendation from Fiona was spot on . The memories we take back to America are outstanding. Denise, Jeff and Laura Horsham Pennsylvania USA"

"We enjoyed a relaxing week in Abbey Cottage and the beautiful surrounding area. The cottage is very well appointed and presented beautifully. If visiting with a four legged friend who loves water, then a visit to Mallards Pike and Wenchford in the Forest of Dean are first class. Sunday lunch in the Fountain Inn, very nice and very welcoming after a longer than expected walk to get there (dog friendly). Local beer (Kingstone Brewery and Wye Valley Brewery) very refreshing after walks in local countryside. All in all, a very enjoyable week. Malcolm and Sam Bennett East Grinstead "
