Reviews from our guests

There are two places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on Trip Advisor and we have an automatic feed of what has been written from Trip Advisor to this site .  Reviews posted like that show on the home page for each cottage, so now you can see what others have said.

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a "fix" and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

"The Anchor was very welcoming, even without the 25% discount! Staff friendly, food mostly typical “pub grub”, but none the worse for that. Cottage size better for us as larger than Vanilla where we have stayed previously ( party of 3 plus a dog). Pat, Rod, Catherine and Winston "

"Thoroughly enjoyed our short break in this beautiful cottage. The area has outstanding beauty and the cottage is ideally situated with an incredible outlook. We will look to return when time and availability allow - five stars from us. David and Marjorie Somerville "

"We have had a wonderful stay- the cottage is just lovely and so perfect to come home to at the end of a busy day out exploring. We enjoyed a long walk from Tintern to Devil's Pulpit, Offas Dyke and round Brockweir. Thanks again Fiona for the wine and welcome. The cottage is just perfect and will definitely recommend Andy, Helen and Claudia O'Toole "

"What a charming cottage! Pristine, rustic condition and so, so welcoming!. We love everything about the cottage, the location, the log burner and the way it just feels like home. Thank you to Fiona who, despite being on crutches, gave us the warmest of welcomes. Flowers, Welsh cakes and wine- lovely, thank you very much. Not far from our home town of Cheltenham but a completely different world. To quote good old Arnie "I'll be back!! Mandy, Jane, Graham, Janet and little Bolly dog "
