Autumn 2017  breaks  -  Peace.  Quiet. Outstanding Autumn beauty. Time for you.

Looking to get away for some fresh air and a great walk?  Wanting a cosy romantic escape to the country?  Dreaming of a warm soak in a hot tub before retreating to the woodburner? Fancy doing some Christmas Shopping in Cardiff, Bath, or Cheltenham- or our attractive market towns?

We have autumn 7, 3 and 4 night  breaks at all three cottages (look also on the availability page for other durations) . Come for Halloween or Bonfires, rustle in leaves, get out on a bike, join a foraging group, and enjoy the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Have a look!

Other countries advertise their "Fall Colours " but did you know that the Wye Valley is a great place to see the golden colours of autumn.?  Recognised as one of the most beautiful woodlands in Britain, with most of its 4,300 hectares lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty we have stunning colours!

Have a look at this wonderful LIVE LINK   from the Forest Commission (England) which shows you exactly when the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean trees are turning gold and then at their best.( note the link is only working once the colours have actually started  to change each year! )  Brilliant!

This quote is from Tintern Abbey Cottage guests staying in October  - "Tintern Abbey is just over the road although it may as well be in your front garden. It appears out of the mist on a chilly October morning and it just takes your breath away."

How long is a short break?

In general  other cottages offer very short  weekend breaks  arriving Friday and turfing you out on Sunday.  But ours are more relaxed. We offer Friday afternoon arrivals  with a Sunday departure but we also let you stay right through to Monday morning departures at no extra charge if you can  . We know that some people have to leave us  during Sunday  but this free extra time pattern allows you to stay as much of the weekend  as you are able. Let's face it you don't really want to be turfed out early on a Sunday morning do you?  A lie in and a leisurely walk  and lunch are surely more appealing before you return to reality.

Mid week breaks are generally the same price as a weekend but with a BONUS of one extra night FREE. Arrive Monday afternoon depart Friday morning  or at any times within that- the cottage is all yours..

Look for the specail offers for groups of less than a full house of 6 at our two larger cottages (Foxes Reach and Tintern AbbeyCottage ) as we  have made reductions on many dates out of the school holidays Often there is a base price for a certain party size with an extra charge for extra people  to max numbers - we are as flexible as possible with our reductions.
