Two individually located holiday cottages in the Wye Valley, Monmouthshire, each sleeping up to 6. We are a family business, and we look after both the houses and our guests ourselves.

Come and breathe fresh air in the Wye Valley Natural Landscape all year round. Step away from doomscrolling for a few days, try woodland walks, kayaking or cycling, then come back to a glass of wine by the fire. We have fast WiFi when you want it, and plenty of reasons to switch it off when you do not.

Whether you want a short escape from the everyday or a longer reset, this is a comfortable base to come back to. There is lots to see and do nearby, in all weathers and all seasons, then you return to a proper country bolthole where you can put your feet up.

Feeling good has no season. Eat, swim, dance, sing, walk, paddle, read a book, or simply sit and listen to the birds. Whatever your reason for coming to this corner of Wales, our Monmouthshire holiday cottages are ready to welcome you. Come and feel the hwyl.

Two cottages, 2 miles apart
Our two houses are about 2 miles apart. Each sleeps up to 6 and they are a similar overall size, with different bedroom layouts to suit different groups. Both are very well equipped and individually designed, with fittings and equipment regularly updated for your comfort.

Each cottage has:
• A superking master bed
• Two bathrooms with excellent showers plus a bathtub
• EV charger
• Central heating
• Linen and towels provided
• High speed WiFi
• Woodburner
• Fenced garden
• Private parking

We replace and refresh a huge number of items in both cottages throughout the year and run an active programme of preventative maintenance. We care that things stay smart, comfortable and working well for you, and we put in the work behind the scenes to keep it that way.

Outdoors or indoors, all year round
You can pack your days with active fun or keep things slow and quiet. There are excellent opportunities locally for walking, wild swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, birdwatching and cycling. If you want to push the boat out a bit more, you will also find archery, riding, quad biking, gorge scrambling and golf within easy reach.

On clear nights, wrap up in a coat, take a hot drink into the garden and enjoy dark skies and bright stars. Wander into the woods and try a little “forest bathing” among the trees. Or simply settle in by the fire and enjoy being indoors in a place that feels calm and cared for.

Food, drink and time to linger
Pack a picnic and take a gentle stroll, or make the most of Monmouthshire’s food scene. Monmouthshire is often called the food capital of Wales, with farmers’ markets, local pubs serving good food to eat in or take away, and well known fine-dining restaurants and wine lists to explore.

Our kitchens are set up so you can cook what you bring back, whether that is market finds, pub deli treats or something simple from the local shops. This is a good place for a relaxed foodie break as well as an active one.

• Foxes Reach, sleeping up to 6 in 4 bedrooms, sits quietly above Tintern at Catbrook, with its own hot tub in the garden.

We are pet friendly, unusually well equipped, and conveniently placed in the Wye Valley Natural Landscape (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), close to Offa’s Dyke, the Royal Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley Walk, the Monmouthshire Way and within reach of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons).

A warm, easy arrival
Arriving guests find the heating on, the table laid for dinner and the beds made up and ready to slip into. Fresh seasonal flowers scent the rooms and there is milk waiting in the fridge. You can start enjoying your stay from the first moment.
