Children are very welcome at Monmouthshire Cottages.

Each cottage sleeps up to 6 people of any age. Children aged 2 and over are counted within this, and we can also accommodate one infant (under 2 on arrival) in a travel cot. A second infant is welcome too, and will simply be counted as a child.

Both cottages are set up with families in mind. You will find stairgates, steps for the washbasin, fireguards and highchairs, plus a range of baby and toddler kit available free of charge on request, including a travel cot, changing mat, in‑bath support and plastic crockery and cutlery.

At Foxes Reach, both single bedrooms have space for a travel cot. The double bedrooms do not have suitable spare space for a cot.

At Tintern Abbey Cottage, the master bedroom fits a travel cot comfortably. The second upstairs bedroom can also take a travel cot, though this does make things a little tighter for adult occupants. The cycle shed here also makes a handy store for a buggy or pram.

Both cottages have fenced gardens, with the rear garden at Tintern Abbey Cottage fenced. There are good local play areas with swings and climbing frames within walking distance of both cottages.

The wider area is packed with things to do with active children, from off‑road cycling and family canoeing to simple riverbank picnics. Local leisure centres have good swimming pools, and anyone studying the Romans will enjoy a visit to Caerleon. You can ride a full‑size or miniature steam train, visit film locations ( Star Wars, The Other Bennet Sister, Harry Potter) , head underground in a coal mine, explore a butterfly zoo or play soldier in a castle. There really is plenty to keep everyone busy.
