Where can we walk?

You are completely spoiled for choice!

Choose from easy riverbank or canalside, gentle hills through woodland and pasture , or the challenge of  real mountains. All these are available within one hours drive – and as many routes start right at your doorstep you could leave the car completely behind..

We also suggest that you have a look at the walking festivals as you can join an organised group walk or attend an indoor talk for a very low fee. Chepstow, Abergavenny, are specially good  and have a look at Walkers are Welcome groups( Chepstow, Tintern, Abergavenny).

If you have teens who are reluctant to go on “boring walks” we recommend introducing them to geocaching. Its a walk with a treasure hunt using GPS technology ( most modern smart phones are adequate). The very mention of using their devices  gets them lacing their boots. When you come home there is a site to upload your results to as well…… Loads of good caches in the whole area.  Get them researching!
