We all had a good nights sleep, very realaxed and cosy. The Master bedroom…there are 3 more! Fresh flowers for every arrival Secure garden suitable for dogs The king sized bed in the “Butterfly” bedroom Great communhication with Fiona before we arrived. Nice little touches around the house with flowers, instructions etc. Thank you The Theobald party 4 Adults, 1 child and a dog. Foxes Reach is an ideal base for families with dogs who enjoy many of the local attractions. Within two mile of the cottage there is The Lost City of Trelleck, a site that is being excavated by the Archiologists. And just around the corner from it The Standing Stones. There are forest walks aplenty in the local area several in the woods are minutes away from the cottage. There are signposted walks in Whitestone forest which boasts some spectacular views. Stunning view enjoyed by walkers and their pet There is plenty to do for guests of all ages. Geochaching is very popular particularly with teenagers who enjoy the fresh air and use of the geocaching app on their mobile phones. Canoeing the Wye from Symonds Yat to Monmouth or from Monmouth to Redbrook is a favorite activity with all age groups. Monmouthshire is the Food Capital of Wales with many artisan producers and shops. There is a wide range of places to eat ranging from Michellin star to cafes and coffee shops. If you have brought your cycles then The Filling Station in Tintern is the place for you. They provide racks for your bike while you enjoy the coffee and freshly made paninis. Sunshine, Pub just seconds away! Loads to do, see and experience. 4 days wasn’t long enough Thank you from Curt, Michelle, Steve and John. 9th May 2025 There is a wealth of adventures to enjoy in Tintern , the Wye Valley, Monmouth, Usk Caerleon and Chepstow. Excellent walking with your dogs, Eating at the local pubs, cafes and Restaurants to having a bbq in the picnic places in the local woodlands. Geocaching is a must for those that enjoy the outdoors and using their mobile phones to track down the hidden treasures. History abounts with more castles than you can shake a stick at, Raglan, Chepstow, Usk WhiteCasle and Grosmont. For cyclists there are paths ins the woods and vfor mountain bike enthusiasts there is the Forest of Dean of further way Bike Park Wales with Black runs! Wild swimming and Up standing paddleboarding at Court Farm Lakes. Monmouth has the Shire Hall which houses the refurbished court room in which the Chartist Trials were held. A visit to the dungeons is a must! For enthusiasts of the Roman occuparion the Roman garrison and baths at Caerleon is well worth a visit. Or just relax wathing the local cricket team in Tintern while enjoying a drink or meal outside at the local pub. 4 days wasn't long enough! -

Stunning, quaint cottage with a . Large garden, stunning views of the Abbey and the valley. The walks for our So many good walks for humans and their doggy “carers” are fab with trails from the door in all directions. The cottage is close to Offa’s Dyke path and the Wye Valley Walk The village has lovely artisan shops and a fantastic pub with good food. Also a great spot to watch the local cricket teams! We highly recommend the cottage and will return. Hingstons and Yorks families. 23 May 2025 There are some surprising activities for people of all ages to enjoy and experience in Tintern, the Wye Valley and surrounding area in Monmouthshire. For those that enjoy using their mobile phones there is Geocaching! The area has some excellent golf courses and fishing on the River Usk. Canoe the Wye from Ross on Wye to Monmouth or Monmouth to Redbrook. Stand up paddle boarding and wild swimming (including some naturist sessions) at Court Farm Lakes Sauna, swim, cafe and Stand up paddle boarding sessions. The Shire Hall in Monmouth boasts the court room of the Chartist trials and a visit to the dungeons and at Caerleon the Roman fortress and baths and baths is well worth a visit.
