Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

They  are written by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B,, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!. Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. The good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People appreciate this effort  on our part greatly and we guarantee it.

Thanks for a wonderful welcome and a fabulous cottage experience. This is an outstanding area for exploring and there are miles of walks from the doorstep, and in particular around Tintern. The walk up to The Devil’s Pulpit is worth it!

We visited Chepstow and Raglan Castles and thoroughly enjoyed them. We also managed an afternoon in Cardiff (only 45 minutes away).

We loved the cottage and the area.

Foxes Reach - A Fabulous Cottage Experience - April 2019

We’ve had a lovely week in Foxes Reach Cottage and have enjoyed many local sights. Fiona and Malcolm gave us an Easter Themed Welcome and were on hand to deal with any issues promptly.

We’re a family of four (2 children aged 14 and 11) and a dog and they enjoyed playing in the garden and the hot tub.

We can recommend visiting Caerfilly and Chepstow Castles and of course, Tintern Abbey. We can also recommend Canoe the Wye for a wonderful afternoon canoeing down the river and the beautiful walks around tintern.

Thank for a lovely break in a wonderful location.

Foxes Reach - Easter themed Welcome -

What a breath of fresh air, such a gorgeous cottage!! Real home from home and the fire was a comforting feature at the end of each day. My daughter enjoyed horse riding at Severnwye Equestrian centre and the Forest of Dean Railway was a highlight for my son. Highly recomment Krazy Golf at Lydney for the children and the big kids, the burgers at the next door American Diner are fab!

Again thanks so much for providing a wonderful stay. We will be sure to recommend to all our friends.

Super comfy beds, superb location to enjoy the local walks. Unable to enjoy the log burner as the weather unseasonably warm(!) but a lovely warm welcome from Fiona.
Many thanks

Excellent long weekend that went all too quickly. Cottage was all that we had hoped for and is sure to be a return destination for us.

A short stay that went far too quickly. We came for the Carol service in the Abbey – what a wonderful memory.
We couldn’t hesitate to return to such a welcoming cottage.
Happy Christmas to you both.
