Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books ( and they were plastic wrapped during the pandemic which meant many did not ) – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or we were only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was nothing we could do to make it better.

We so enjoyed our time at Tintern Cottage. Your blackcurrant vodka is divine, I enjoyed a small tipple most evenings!! You are very thoughtful people which is why we had such a lovely break in the perfect cottage in the most idyllic setting. Thank you so so much. We will definitely be back and are recommending you to all our friends.

We will see you soon.

Abbey Cottage is delightful and the view hard to beat! Our recommendations are: The Abbey (of course), Tintern Old Station for lunch and Stella’s books. We’d loved to do more walking but time didn’t permit. If you could possibly order some warm sunshine! We’ve been very fortunate, but the cottage is very cosy anyway. Hope to be back t explore more.

A very comfortable and comforting cottage. Well appointed, clean and welcoming. A lovely cottage and lovely hosts. We have had a very happy week.
We look forward to visiting here again.

Haven’t we been lucky! Beautiful weather and just one rainy night which your garden appreciated. It was so welcoming (after the M4 drive) to come into your cosy cottage and see the table laid for dinner- but where we’re the cook and butler?
We have loved being here and leave a lot more relaxed than when we arrived!

Thank you Fiona and Malcolm. Your cottage is a little gem set in a beautiful area. We have explored many places in the area over the past week and had had many nice surprise s and met some lovely people. The glorious weather has been a bonus.
No complaints!

A return visit, this time with my sister and our elderly Mum. We were delighted that the cottage and garden were accessible to our disabled Mum. Weather was lovely so mum was able to sit out in the garden in the morning whilst my sister and I enjoyed walking locally. The Anchor Inn was very welcoming and very dog friendly. Nice to be able to walk the wheelchair to the pub!
Lovely cottage in a great setting.
Many thanks for the “Welcome” gifts.
