Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

“Home from Home” cottage, very cosy, very welcoming. Enjoyed watching different breeds of birds in the garden. For lovely food try The Black Bear 0.9 miles up the hill – cash only! Lovely Sunday Carvery at the Golf club, walking distance bottom of the hill, turn left.

Good accommodation in a beautiful part of the country. Unfortunately the weather was dire, so we didn’t see a lot. We are lucky to have a friend in the area. Thank you for a warm haven from the rain! We appreciated the rapid attention given to our problems and their speedy resolution.

Another great stay at TAC so cosy and comfy in a great area to explore and how lucky were, we only got wet once otherwise rain at night and warm sunshine during the days. The Anchor was great. Good food and extremely dog friendly. We recommend The Old Station tearoom in Tintern which is at the mid-point of anexcellent riverside walk. A basic menu but lovely service and sheltered spot (open until end of October). There is an exhibition of goods in the station signal box; great products at incredible prices and run by a lovely couple. We bought several good things.
Thank you Fiona and Malcolm Tintern Abbey cottage is so beautiful it’s hard to leave.

This is our third time at the cottage, much appreciated the welcome pack. We have had a lovely relaxing break in the beautiful cottage, pity about the weather but managed to get out for some lovely walks in the Forest. Been to The Big Pit which was very interesting at Blaenavon with free admission. Had a day out in Gloucester and been to Cardiff which is very easy to get to, also the Rhondda Heritage Centre. St Tag and Museum is fantastic.
Will be back next year.
