Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

What a special cottage! We have had a wonderful stay at Foxes Reach. Thank you for the lovely welcome and all the extra touches I.e. wine and Vodka etc. Loved the hot tub on a starry night and wood burner. All very relaxing. This is a perfect cottage and look forward to visiting again next year.
Visited Monmouth and Chepstow (Castle worth a visit), Tintern ( The Anchor is a good pub) Abergavenny (great market on a Tuesday) and Usk (nice drive out) Many thanks again Lynn and Laurence Hodgkins Birmingham

Another relaxing stay at Vanilla Cottage. Can’t comment on restaurants locally because we brought half the contents of M&S food dept with us and had a lovely time tucking in and enjoying the facilities at the cottage.
Thanks for the welcome pack

We have had a delightful stay in this welcoming and homely Vanilla Cottage. The walks have put Matty our Jack Russell in seventh heaven with all the trees to sniff, a change from beaches for her.
Thank you very much. Well catered for!

Wonderful cottage, loved making the open fires (wood burner) and being cosy. Beautiful setting and lovely birds to watch and listen to. Thanks for all the special treats.

Lovely cottage and thank you for the treats. Had a great time walking- Symonds Yat and along the river, the Monks Walk and best of all to the Devil’s Pulpit- what a view and 1000 year old Yew thrown in. Dogs loved it. Lovely meal at The Anchor Inn and lunch at Saracens Head near Symonds Yat. Another lovely lunch at Brockweir and Hewelsfield Community Shop and cafe.
