We enjoyed a relaxing week in Abbey Cottage and the beautiful surrounding area. The cottage is very well appointed and presented beautifully. If visiting with a four legged friend who loves water, then a visit to Mallards Pike and Wenchford in the Forest of Dean are first class. Sunday lunch in the Fountain Inn, very nice and very welcoming after a longer than expected walk to get there (dog friendly). Local beer (Kingstone Brewery and Wye Valley Brewery) very refreshing after walks in local countryside. All in all, a very enjoyable week. This is a wonderful, tranquil place to stay. Fiona did a fantastic job in preparing everything to the highest standard. Outstanding! The best things were: Evening walks around Tintern in woods and along river 3 Castles walk (White Castle, Grosmont, Skenfrith) fabulous scenery but a lot to d in me day. Raglan Castle, especially the views from the tower at the back Chepstow and Castle, especially the tiny medieval walled garden! Tintern Abbey – go early before it gets busy.
