Thank you Malcolm and Fiona for a lovely stay at your beautiful Tintern Abbey Cottage. Everyone told us it rains a lot in Wales! Nevertheless we had a wonderful few days – driving through the villages, a visit to the Sculpture trail ( incorporating the Gruffalo trail which the kids enjoyed!) Red robin spotting, crunching through snow, local walks, a wander around the Abbey. Too much to see and do with only three days to do it in so we will have to come back. Thank you for the welcome treats- delicious BlackBerry Vodka! How nice it was to sit beside a real fire sipping wine!. A rarity in Australia! Off now, to the other side of the world, to 35 degrees Celsius, but this area has left a lasting impression. Warm wishes, Melanie and Maciek Grabowski and family Western Australia Melanie and Maciek Grabowski -
We had a wonderful week in Vanilla cottage and enjoyed walking off the pre Christmas stress in the Brecon Beacons. Our favourites were hiking a frozen llangattock Escarpment, where we were one of a few walkers on New Years Eve. This was in contrast to a very busy and stormy Pen Y Fan. We are avid hikers (probably the austrian genes) we will definitely be coming back to explore the area and would love to stay in Vanilla cottage again.
