The cottage has been a lovely relaxing place to come back to after many castle visits – Castle Coch and Raglan were both highlights. Lots of lovely walks and so many places to visit. The Black Bear and Nags Head both served good meals with great service. 10/10. Martin and Tracey Pirouet Jersey Martin and Tracey Pirouet - September 2014
Have had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage. During the week we’ve been to Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves and Enchanted Forest, The Roman Museum amphitheatre and baths, and The Big Pit, Bristol Zoo, Chepstow Castle and Symonds Yat. Really, really don’t want to leave. Eating, we’ve eaten in The Anchor,, Royal George Hotel and the Rose and Crown for dinner- all lovely, fab food and friendly welcome. Such a beautiful setting and the house very comfortable and welcoming. As this was a family gathering in this and Vanilla Cottage and family home, we were 18 converging near Tintern. Picnic lunch here and dinner at The Anchor were the highlights for catching up and being together. On other days, some went jogging,,, some went walking, some went to the Abbey. Our French friends were particularly impressed. Some went to Chepstow Museum and in between there was a great deal of talking, reading and relaxing! What a lovely cottage! So well equipped. We were all very comfortable and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The weather this week Couldn’t have been better- who needs ” the Med” when it’s like this! We were taken with how quiet it is up here. It was great that the “Pooch” was allowed in so many pubs for our evening meals. Everyone was so welcoming. Would love to come back for a return visit. Excellent throughout. Mike, Sue, Carol, Mark, Liam and Rosie Kettering Mike, Sue, Carol, Mark, Liam and Rosie -
We have had a lovely week. Thank you. We have had a great holiday with our humans here at Foxes Reach. Walks around the village are ok although the local dogs are a bit noisy at the sight of visitors. On a hot day woodland walks have been fun. We also liked Chepstow Castle and Symonds Yat. Our favourite place to relax is The Anchor Inn at Tintern- great for a lunch/ tea. We also liked the Inn at Penallt. Best of all was coming here to laze about in the garden.
